The City of London Lord Mayor

On Wednesday 29th September 2010 the City elected Alderman and Pavior Michael Bear as the 683rd Lord Mayor of the City of London.
However prior to taking office Michael must receive the Approbation of the Monarch confirming his election by the City as the next Lord Mayor. This was granted on Monday 18th October 2010 at the House of Lords and celebrated that evening at Cutlers’ Hall with the Presentation Dinner.
The Presentation Dinner was attended by the Sheriffs, Aldermen and other dignitaries from the City as well as The Rt Hon Kenneth Clarke QC MP Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice. The hosting Master and Wardens of the Paviors, Engineers, Chartered Surveyors and Security Professionals, all Livery Companies of which Michael is a member, were also present.
Michael will take office at the Silent Ceremony, held in the Great Hall, Guildhall on Friday 12th November 2010.
