Sensing the passing of time is strange in the way it changes. It is very similar to taking a photograph of something that is passing you at high speed. As it approaches it seems very steady, but you are full of anxious anticipation. At the moment it passes you it is a blur. When it has gone by it is again steady as it passes into the distance, and you can relax with the captured memories to enjoy over time.

 

The build up to the Master's year and the rush of events of the first four months has been very much like this. With the coming quieter period of July and August I can more fully appreciate these first events from the magnificence of the Mansion House and St. Pauls; the enjoyment of evenings with fellow Livery Companies to the convivial company of Paviors and their

partners on the jolly in Ballymaloe I now have an opportunity to review where we are, particularly in respect of the development of our charitable base, our recruitment and our calendar of events. I will report more fully in due course.
