On a sunny morning in mid-May, a Paviors’ team comprising Past Master Christopher Laing, Court Assistant Alexander Malmeus, Liveryman Malcolm Harris and guest Vin Chapman met at Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds for the annual Inter-Livery Clay Pigeon Shooting Competition.

The format this year was slightly different from previous years, in that the competition was shot over two days; the Paviors were participants on Day 2. Not that this made much difference to the winning teams who were, as expected, from the Gunmakers Company. On a brilliant sunny day, the valiant guns from the Paviors scored 256 from a possible 400 – the winning score being 378!

The event was well-organized and gave great support to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal. Surely the Paviors will return next year?
