The 2022-23 Master and Mistress Pavior – Neil and Milly Sandberg – walked the South Downs Way over several weekends to raise £5000 for the London Construction Academy. The trail runs for 160 km (100 mi) from Winchester in Hampshire to Eastbourne in East Sussex, with 4,150 m (13,620 ft) of ascent and descent. Neil kept fellow Paviors informed about their progress via WhatsApp.

First half marathon done – Winchester to Exton. Only damage so far is one blister. Thank you to all of you who have already donated – very motivational as we pass each mile.

Made it. Lost one dog for 10 mins. Dog now in dog house! 23/100 done.

Made it! That’s enough for this weekend. 65 miles to go.

Another 13 miles done today to Ditchling Beacon. Less than 30 to go which depending on weather we may try to do next weekend. Thanks for all your very generous donations.
19 miles of South Downs Way done today. Now at Alfriston. Eastbourne within sight (almost). Only 10 miles to go tomorrow morning.

Finished! Difficult day today even though only 10 miles. Lots of up and down and mud and rain. Fantastic and exciting to have completed it.
