The Paviors Mansion House Banquet is one of the highlights of the year and it has been my great pleasure as your Master to welcome not only Paviors but a significant number of guests. It is a great treat to see those who have never attended a lovery event to be hit with the wow factor. The splendour of the setting was equally matched by good food and wine and above all the companionship that we all share.

The Upper and Renter Wardens were there to protect me. I would like to give my thanks to them for the commitment that they both have for the Livery and the many, many hours of time that they give to keep the company in good and thriving order.

We hold dear our ancient history but we are a thoroughly modern livery. It was a great pleasure to give the Paviors’ Award For Excellence to Dr Sue Sharland for her significant contribution to transportation and infrastructure. Our trade remains at the cornerstone of all that we do and to have such senior industry leaders emphasises this. The Lord Mayor, Dr Micheal Mainelli, is not only a financier but also an academic and a scientist. He has a strong affiliation with the Paviors and he was delighted with a very comprehensive briefing that we were able to give to him earlier on this year at Davos.
