On Saturday 26th October 18 Paviors and guests met at the Upper Warden Charlie Laing’s house for a bacon roll and a cup of tea before to set us for our morning of practice and coaching at Purdy’s shooting ground.
The plan was for the Paviors to hone their shooting in readiness for next year Inter Livery Shoot!
We set out in for groups for a few rounds of practice, before returning the lodge to warm up by the log burner. Once we were all warmed up, we set out again to test our skills in a mini competition before finishing the morning with 50 bird flush.
The “Top Gun” was Rafe Hill (Oliver Lofthouse guest), runner up was Squadron Leader Joe Murphy of 29 Squadron. Top team was Tim Fitch, Henry Lamb, Michael Sandy and Ben Sandy.
We then all retuned to the Upper Warden’s house for a splined home cooked lunch.
A big thank you the Upper Warden and his wife Alison for their wonderful hospitality.
