The Coopers’ Cask Race returned to Guildhall Yard on the year’s hottest day to date, and teams from across the Livery and Civic community rose to the challenge. Recognising that many members are involved with other livery companies, Ward Clubs, and civic organisations, the event provided the perfect opportunity to bring together those remarkable groups in a unique and spirited competition.
The Lady Mayoress opened the proceedings, lending civic splendour to what proved to be a lively and fiercely contested morning.
The competition was intense, with teams from the Glovers (gripping the challenge with both hands), the Merchant Taylors (cutting through the opposition), the Army Cadets (ready for battle), the Household Cavalry (charging towards victory), and the Management Consultants (rolling out a strategy for success) among those who took part.
The Paviors entered a team led by Charlie Laing and supported by Rob Kremis and Rebecca Laing.
