The Worshipful Company of Paviors’ Charity Golf Day returned to West Kent Golf Club on Friday and proved to be another outstanding success.
A total of 68 golfers, together with a few lunch guests, enjoyed a superb day of golf, hospitality and fundraising, with our Master presenting the prizes and conducting the charity auction.
Members competed for the prestigious Sir Robert McAlpine Cup, now in its 76th year, with Janet Gibb successfully defending her title with a remarkable 43 Stableford points, ahead of Malcolm Stephen (39 points) and Iain Gibb (38 points).
Supported by excellent weather and first-class course conditions, catering and facilities, the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
Thanks to the generosity of our members, guests and sponsors, the day raised £9,164, which the Paviors’ Golf Society will proudly top up to £9,500 in support of our charitable causes.
Special thanks go to our volunteers and helpers, particularly Sue Illman, Penny Merritt, Holly Merritt and Daisy Merritt, for their invaluable support throughout the day.
We are already looking ahead to an even bigger celebration next year as the Paviors’ Golf Society marks its Centenary Year. Our 2027 Charity Golf Day is already confirmed for Friday 2nd July 2027 at West Kent Golf Club, and we hope many of you will join us for this landmark occasion.
The Society is always keen to welcome new members and associate members to enjoy our programme of five golf events each year, together with our AGM and annual dinner.
