The Paviors’ Golfing Society hosted a highly successful charity golf event at the West Kent Golf Club. The day was marked by perfect weather and a strong turnout, with 54 golfers participating in the competition and an additional 4 attendees joining for lunch and fundraising activities.
Highlights:
• Fundraising Success: Beyond the competition, the day was filled with engaging activities, including an auction, a Heads and Tails game, and a raffle. Thanks to the generosity of all participants, sponsors, and supporters, the event surpassed its fundraising goal, raising over £6,100. These funds will go directly to The Paviors’ Charity who are fully funding the London Construction Academy, contributing to meaningful community support.
• McAlpine Cup: The competition for this prestigeous prize, which has been a tradition since 1975, was fierce. This year’s winner, Ben Laing, delivered an outstanding performance with a score of 39 points. Congratulations to Ben for his remarkable achievement! We look forward to seeing him defend his title during next year’s special 50th-anniversary event.
Looking Forward: The success of this event has set a new standard for future gatherings. For next year, we aim to expand participation to 72 golfers and welcome 8 additional guests or volunteers, targeting a total of 80 attendees. The details for the 2025 event, including the venue and format, will be finalised by December 2024, with the calendar confirmed in January 2025.

Our events offer a fun, friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy a day outdoors with friends, culminating in lunch and prize-giving. Members are encouraged to bring guests, and we also accept associate membership applications.
