Paviors Master Alexander Malmaeus (captain), Master of the Charterhouse Peter Aiers, Court Assistant Julia Lofthouse and friend of the coach, Vern Bubb, formed the team for the Coopers’ Cask Race. They were supported by the coach, the immediate Past Master Charlie Laing, and the Freeman, Michaela Collins, with her two sons.
The Worshipful Company of Coopers write: “This year’s race welcomed teams from across the City, including fellow Livery Companies, the Yeoman Warders of the Tower of London, Coopers’ Company and Coborn School, City businesses, and the Coopers’ uniformed affiliates. We were especially delighted to welcome the Lady Mayor and her team, who joined the event for the first time.”
The Distillers were the overall winners, and the Yeomans Wardens won the prize for the best team kit.
