On a baking hot Father’s Day, the Paviors took to the road again in the third Inter Livery Go-kart competition. Once again the venue was the Daytona Track at Sandown Park and, once again, the race was in the safe stewardship of the Glovers Company. Our team this year was Charlie Laing and daughter Rebecca plus guest Gerry Bacon and his daughter Jenny.
Unfortunately, the Paviors’ team failed to bring home any silverware, finishing a paltry 14th out of 17. Rebecca was the quickest, with a best lap time of a little over 54 seconds. This compares to the Management Consultants Company, whose average lap time was under 51 seconds. The team did manage some notoriety however, as team captain Charlie Laing brought the race to halt when his car conked out mid lap, and he suffered the ignominious trudge back to the pits.
A good day had by all topped off by prize giving by the Lord Mayor and Master Glover.
