In the week leading up to one of the most consequential budgets in a generation, it was timely that the Worshipful Company of Paviors – one of the longest-established institutions focused on the delivery of transport infrastructure – convened a panel to discuss the role of private-sector capital in infrastructure delivery.

Sponsored by global engineering, design and programme management consultancy Arcadis, the panel discussed the models for deploying private-sector capital, some historic barriers, and what both public and private-sector actors could and should do differently.

An audience of senior industry practitioners heard from a panel moderated by Alderman Tim Hailes and comprising Liz Peace CBE, Julian Ware (Head Of Corporate Finance at Transport for London), John Dickie (Chief Executive at BusinessLDN), Richard Osborne and Stephen James, concluding the private sector’s willingness to provide advice, expertise, finance and skills to get Britain building.
