This year’s Inter-Livery Swimathon was held in the pool at the RAC Country Club, Woodcote Park, Epsom on Thursday 2 March. The event was again organized by the Chartered Surveyors Company.
The Paviors entered a team of five comprising Patrick Edwards, Rhodri James, Rob Kremis and Dick Robinson, plus the son of our Clerk, Samuel Freestone. The Paviors’ team, with ages ranging from 11 to 71, took to the water and swum the required 5,000 metres comfortably in two-and-a-quarter hours, and were the second of the nine livery companies participating to finish the course. The team were joined by the Master and Clerk for dinner, and enjoyed a traditional meal of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding in the RAC’s dining room.
The event raises money for the Paviors’ London Construction Academy and the Lord Mayor’s Appeal for 2017. Please click on the Paviors’ Just Giving page to make your contribution for this splendid effort by our swimming team at the event.
