This year, the City welcomed Alderman Alastair King as the 696th Lord Mayor. Following the Silent Ceremony, where the Lord Mayor officially takes office, the day’s festivities commenced with a grand procession from Mansion House to the Royal Courts of Justice, where the Lord Mayor swore allegiance to the Crown.

As always, the Paviors’ played a prominent role in the parade with our traditional steam traction engine and of course the inflatable pig. In pride of place on the Paviors’ float was a ukelele band expertly directed by Liverymen’s Committee chair Jacqui Davies.

Huge thanks go to Nick Thornton and Max Hacon for organising the Pavior’s involvement this year.

Though always variable in November, the weather was kind to the walkers and although cold the rain held off for another very memorable Lord Mayor’s Show.
Of note in this year’s event was that our Master, Melanie Hampton was invited to take part in the Guard of Honour for the incoming Lord Mayor.
