The Past Master, Charlie Laing and the Clerk attended the ancient Mulberry Ceremony that took part at the Charterhouse. In a long-standing tradition, at the end of July every year the Master and Brothers of Charterhouse offer a basket of the first ripe mulberries from the Queen’s mulberry in Preacher’s Court to the Lord Mayor of London. This year the presentation was to the Lady Mayor and the Mayoral Consort. The Past Master presented Dame Susan Langley DBE, Lady Mayor, Gary Langley, Mayoral Consort and the Master of the Charterhouse with a gift of mulberry vodka from the Paviors. The vodka was also served at lunch with the Brothers. The Paviors were delighted to be involved with the ceremony and our neighbours at the Charterhouse.
