Paviors Welcomes GRS As Sponsor

The Worshipful Company of Paviors is pleased to welcome GRS, the UK’s largest independent materials trader, as a major sponsor for 2018/19.

Over the past 50 years the GRS Group – which trades and transports 15 million tonnes of construction aggregate and waste materials every year – has grown to become a nationwide partner to the construction industry from its GRS Roadstone roots.

Today GRS is a supplier to many of Britain’s highest-profile infrastructure projects and major builders’ merchants, and in 2017 was among the highest climbers the Sunday Times top track 250 growth companies.

The sponsorship ties in with the installation of Dyfrig James – a non-exec director of GRS Group – as the new Master of the Paviors. GRS’s support will enable the Company to continue its charitable giving, supporting organizations such as The London Construction Academy, The Construction Youth Trust and the Arkwright Scholars.

‘On behalf of the Paviors I am delighted that GRS have agreed to support us this year,’ commented Master of The Worshipful Company of Paviors, Dyfrig James. ‘GRS is a highly professional and innovative company and it’s a real pleasure to have formed this partnership in my year as Master’.

GRS Chief Executive Jon Fisher said: ‘The Paviors is a great institution and we’re pleased to support the excellent work of the Company. GRS has expanded to provide a complete end-to-end solution for the trading, hauling and handling of bulk materials for construction. Sponsoring the Paviors is an opportunity to celebrate our growth among some of our closest business associates.’

GRS operates a number of businesses including GRS Bagging, the UK’s largest bagged aggregates supplier and Earth Solutions waste and recycling partnership. GRS also owns Maen Karne, Cornwall’s leading supplier of aggregates, waste removal and concrete products; S Walsh & Sons, London’s premier provider of services to infrastructure; and RFS, a joint venture providing materials handling for rail, marine and road haulage.
