After a two-year gap, a number of Paviors enjoyed getting together again for a traditional Christmas celebration.
Apothecaries’ Hall was the venue on Monday 13 December and liverymen and their spouses gathered to chat over a glass of champagne. The Hall is a rather special venue, being the oldest livery hall in the City of London and the only one to have survived the Great Fire.
Participants sat down in the Great Hall to enjoy a meal of traditional Christmas fayre. With fewer numbers attending than at past events, seating was more ‘spacious’ and allowed some social-distancing. The food was very good and diners were entertained by soprano Olivia Grace Piper. Everyone then joined in with some traditional carols.
The event provided a great opportunity to meet up with fellow Paviors who had not had the opportunity to get together for a considerable time. A very successful and enjoyable evening resulted. Many thanks are due to the organizers for the meticulous arrangements.
We wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year!
