The Worshipful Company of Paviors held a Masked Charity Ball at Plaisterers’ Hall in London on Friday 1 February 2019. The aim of the event was to raise money for the Paviors’ charity, the London Construction Academy, which has so far trained and found jobs for over 150 ‘hard-to-reach’ individuals coming into the construction industry. The Ball also raised money for the Paviors’ Master’s chosen charity, Alzheimers Research UK.
A room full of Paviors and supporters had a wonderful time in special surroundings. The evening started with a champagne reception followed by a four-course dinner. Entertainment included wonderful close-magic performed by Lee Hathaway and colleagues to the delight of diners, followed by dancing to ‘Too Darn Hot’, a seven-piece band. There were prizes for the best mask for both ladies and gentlemen.
Many of the tables were sponsored and there was an auction via iPads on the tables, so the flow of the evening was not disrupted. Guests were magnificently looked after by the staff of Plaisterers’ Hall and the evening raised just under £45,000 for the charities.
