PHILANTHROPY

The Company is a strong supporter of charitable and educational organizations, particularly those linked with the City of London and with the craft of paving. The Paviors Company is driven strongly by charitable and educational objectives. Each year, the Company makes charitable donations to a number of causes, and rewards excellence in activities associated with the craft of ‘paving’. Around half of the money donated comes from the Paviors’ Charity (Registered Charity No. 1102885) and the remainder comes from fund-raising events.

The general policies of the charity are suggested to the Trustees by the Charity Committee of the Worshipful Company of Paviors. The Trustees usually favour three distinct and separate areas of public benefit:

a) The provision of apprenticeship qualifications and education in the construction industry for young people;
b) The Corporation of London, the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, and other charities associated with the City of London;
c) Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, through affiliations with the 29th Squadron RAF, HMS Argyll, and the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment 3rd Battalion.
