The London Construction Academy is sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Paviors. This year, four courses have been run in conjunction with FM Conway Ltd.
During the year, 63 people have attended the courses, with 33 (52 per cent) achieving the London Bronze Pass and CSCS certificate at the end. Of the successful participants, 18 (55 per cent) found employment and six chose to go back to education.
Three of the successful candidates still searching for employment are:
Candidate 1: Former postman used to working in all weather conditions and seeking change of career and entry into construction industry; can drive, but has no vehicle; lives Harrow area
Candidate 2: Seeking manual work, either permanent or apprenticeship; non-driver; lives Brent area
Candidate 3: Seeking manual work, either permanent or apprenticeship; non-driver; lives Brent area

To date, the Academy has run 16 courses and is proud to report that 284 students have been enrolled and 198 passed the course. Of those who passed, 62 per cent found employment and 4 per cent went back to education
